[en] Investigate the process of search for point sources of gamma radiation with unknown parameters. The offered method involves creating a simulated map of the detector efficiency with respect to the initial location of the source environment and then compares the measured ratio of the velocity detector count with appropriate efficiency, calculated using software package GEANT4. At each step of the value of the observed data is normalized with respect to the expected relative point and verification by the Pearson chi-square test is performed for each of a series of measurements. Finding the minimum value of chi-square allows the determination of the source location relative to the detector and the activity of it. This paper presents the results of the simulation measurement detector NaI(Tl) 63x63 mm in air from gamma-ray sources at different depths of the soil. (authors)
