AbstractAbstract
[en] A standard test procedure for maintenance and repair of nuclear instrument, in particular radiation detectors have become one of the major concerns in nuclear counting system to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the system especially when being handled by different operators. The test procedure is also important to guide a new technical person and make the knowledge transfer possible. A proper document and verification of the IAEA standard of the test procedure to be used in all institutes had been accomplished by Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares, Mexico. Nuclear Malaysia had assisted in proving and verifying these procedures. Two of the commonly used radiation detectors; Geiger-Mueller and Scintillation detectors had been tested and reports regarding these procedures had been established. In the future, Nuclear Malaysia plans to eventually utilize or accomplish a similar test procedure to be applied in our laboratories. (author)
