AbstractAbstract
[en] The capability of control element which function as neutron absorber is represented by parameter of minimum shut down margin. The minimum shut down margin indicates the capability of the control elements to shut down the reactor with sufficient margin to ensure that the reactor can be terminated in any conditions. Another important characteristic of control elements is the maximum reactivity insertion rate of the control elements which is derived from S curve. The minimum shut down margin and S curve of control elements were calculated using Monte Carlo method MCNP5 code. The minimum shutdown margin taking into account one struck rod criteria could meet the acceptance limit of 0.5 dk/k. (author)
