AbstractAbstract
[en] International Linear Collider (ILC) causes the head-on collision between high-energy electrons and positrons, and reproduces the elementary particle reaction that was going on around 10-11 second after the creation of the universe. This is the accelerator that can indicate the direction exceeding the standard theory of current particle physics. ILC is the large international key project of particle physics that Japan hosts, and it is the complementary and synergistic collider between the Large Hadron Collider of CERN. Its purpose is to determine the direction of particle physics exceeding the standard theory after the Higgs discovery, under the clean experimental environment with low background for electron-positron collision. The accelerator technology is sufficiently mature as shown in the Technical Design Report (2013). The invitation of the international project of such basic science can give the dreams and hopes for the future by inspiring the next generations, and give them incentive to become future scientists and engineers who are competent and internationally accepted. However, the mechanism of Japan's budget acquisition gives anxiety that the ILC project can give a negative impact on the budgets of other basic science fields. In order to solve this problem, scientists in cooperation with the government circle, political field, and industry world must rack their brains. (A.O.)
