AbstractAbstract
[en] We carried out electromagnetic field analyses on the cross sections of two dipole magnets wound with coated conductors. One was a cosine-theta magnet, and the other was a block design magnet. The electric field–current density characteristics of the coated conductors were formulated using a percolation depinning model based on the measured voltage–current characteristics. We calculated the temporal evolutions of the current-density distributions in all the turns of each magnet and used these evolutions to calculate the multipole components of the magnetic field. We compared the two magnets, which differed in coated-conductor orientations, regarding the influence of coated-conductor magnetization on the field qualities. (paper)
