AbstractAbstract
[en] Deinococcus radiodurans is best known for its extraordinary resistance to γradiation (with its D_1_0 ∼12kGy), several other DNA damaging agents, dessication to less than ∼5% humidity and chemical toxicants. An efficient DNA double strand break (DSB) repair and its ability to protect biomolecules from oxidative damage are the few mechanisms attributed to these phenotypes in this bacterium
