AbstractAbstract
[en] Signal and noise evolution in electron detectors are analysed using a cascade model. For each cascade, the required parameters can be obtained experimentally or by simulation. The model allows predicting the noise properties of a detector, in order to identify and improve the most important stages in the signal formation chain, or in return to evaluate the performance of unknown stage. Experimental results from Raith ionLINE tool are presented, demonstrating good agreement with the model. (paper)
