AbstractAbstract
[en] Methylpyrrolidinium nitrate (MePyr-NO_3) was anchored on chloromethylated polystyrenedivinylbenzene (PS-DVB) resin, and investigated for the extraction of plutonium (IV) from nitric acid medium. The resin was characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy. The distribution coefficient, Kd, mL/g, of plutonium (IV) was measured as a function of concentrations of nitric acid. The percentage extraction of Pu(IV) was studied as a function of time. Kd values of Pu(IV) increases with increase in the concentration of nitric acid up to 7 M, followed by decrease. (author)
