AbstractAbstract
[en] In this talk we propose to discuss TL-radiation response of several glass systems (viz., borates, phosphates, silicates) mixed with small concentrations of transition metal/rare earth ions) with in a broad range of γ-ray dose (0.25 to 10 kGy). The role of valence states of dopant ions was found to be crucial on TL output of the glasses. We have identified the optimum concentration of such dopants for getting maximum TL output in each case and finally we have proposed possible mechanism responsible for TL emission in individual glass systems with the help of other spectroscopic measurements viz., optical absorption, ESR and IR spectra) and examined the suitability of some of these materials for possible radiation dosimetry applications.
