AbstractAbstract
[en] The search strategy for heavy resonances decaying to a pair of bosons in proton-proton collisions in the CMS detector at LHC is presented. Several New Physics scenarios including the recently proposed heavy vector triplet (HVT) simplified model predict the existence of Beyond Standard Model (BSM) resonances that have enhanced couplings to boson pairs. This search is particularly challenging, since for large resonance masses the two bosons are boosted and the final decay products are difficult to separate. This requires the development and use of dedicated techniques such as special tau reconstruction and lepton isolation approaches. In the absence of a significant deviation from the Standard Model expectation, upper limits are set on the signal cross section times branching ratio for the HVT signal model.
