[en] In 2006 The Vietnamese authorities expressed its willingness to get a nuclear capacity of 8000 MWe by 2025. The Fukushima accident damped somewhat this ambition and the Vietnamese National Assembly demanded that safety reactor analysis would be re-assessed. For the Ninh Thuan 1 project the technological and financing cooperation relies on Russia while for the the Ninh Thuan 2 project the main partner is Japan. The contract for the construction will be signed in 2017. (A.C.)
