AbstractAbstract
[en] The validation of NAA methods has been done with the parameters of accuracy, precision, repeatability and selectivity. The NBL Reference Material No 107-A, 106, 110-A and 109-A Monazite Sand and Reference Material 8704 Buffalo River Sediment, and standard elements of U, Th and zircon sand were used in this study. The determination of uranium (U-238) and thorium (Th-232) using AAN method in zircon sand samples from Tumbang Titi in Kalimantan. U and Th were determined using reaction U-238(n,γ)Np-239 dan Th-232(n,γ)Pa-233. Uranium (U-238) was identified from the peak energy 228.2 KeV of Np-239 and thorium (Th-232) from the peak energy 311.8 and 300 KeV of Pa-233. The result of validation showed that the radionuclides of Th-232 and U-238 were in acceptance criteria of accuracy and precision, except U-238 with concentration of 0.414 mg/kg does not meet the Reference Material No-11O-A. The analysis result of U-238 and Th-238 concentration in zircon sand found were (447.2±22.5) mg/kg and (1109.2±77.8) mg/kg. (author)
