[en] The use of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) has a wide field in the realization of automatic systems, since is sought that the form of control is easy for any user. In this work, the TRIGA Mark III reactor of Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares (ININ) is intended to operate with a programming code in PLC for the automation of the control rods, having uniform wear according to the power required by the user. On the other hand, is proposed to develop an HMI graphical interface for communication via Ethernet, allowing supervision during the reactor operation process and greater protection of operators during reactor startup. The accuracy of the new actuators, as well as their durability, will allow a good performance of the reactor for many years to come. (Author)
