AbstractAbstract
[en] A softening of the surface layer of material does not disappear soon after cessation of lighting of surface, and for a specified time there is preserved - the residual photomechanical effect. It follows from the mechanism of this effect that its value should depend on structural perfection of the viewed surface. The present paper dwells on a comparative study of the residual photomechanical effect carried both by using the specimens of n-silicon of both initial and exposed to irradiation with fast neutrons with fluence of 10"1"7 n/cm"2. There is shown that growth of the value of the residual photomechanical effect and the time period of its existence in an irradiated specimens are determined by an increase in defectiveness of the crystalline structure of the specimen surface, and thereby by more effective non-uniform bend of the energy bands in the surface layer.
