AbstractAbstract
[en] It is shown that whole tobacco leaf reduces [35SI] sulfate to [35SI] sulfite. The amount and the specific radioactivity of the labelled sulfite recovered indicate that daylight plays an essential part in this process, which is a rapid one. Its quantitative analysis is, however, rendered difficult by oxidation of sulfite to sulfate, which is catalysed by the tissues utilised. Le present travail montre que la feuille entiere de tabac reduit le [35S] sulfate en [35S]sulfite. La quantite et la radioactivite specifique du [35S]sulfite recueilli indiquent que la lumiere joue un role essentiel dans cette reduction. Celle-ci est une reaction rapide mais son etude quantitative est rendue difficile a cause de l'oxydation du sulfite en sulfate que les tissues utilises catalysent.
