AbstractAbstract
[en] Diglycolamides (DGA) are now considered to be one of the most promising extractant for actinide partitioning. A hexapodal N-pivot ligand (TREN-G2-DGA) with dendritic structural features and having six DGA arms has been synthesized for the extraction of actinides and lanthanides. Similar to TREN-DGA, Eu3+ was found to be extracted more efficiently as compared to Am3+ in the molecular solvent (5% iso-decanol / n-dodecane). The metalligand stoichiometry was found to be 1:1 from the ligand concentration dependent extraction studies of Am3+ and Eu3+. An interesting observation was noticed while studying the extraction behaviour of Am3+ and Eu3'+ with increasing nitric acid concentration in the aqueous phase
