AbstractAbstract
[en] Porous films with binary phase of TiO2 containing Fe2O3 were fabricated by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) coupled with post heat treatment. Effects of heat treatment temperature on microstructure and photocatalytic activities of the films were investigated. The results revealed that the PEO film without heat treatment consisted of anatase TiO2 (A-TiO2) and Al2TiO5, apart from the corresponding elements in the crystal, Fe and P were also found in the film. Film subjected to heat treatment at a lower temperature of 600 °C was composed of A-TiO2 and Fe2O3 and some Al2O3, and film treated at 800 °C contained additional Rutile TiO2 (R-TiO2). After heat treatment, the film surface became unique and homogeneous with smaller roughness. After heat treatment, films showed stronger absorption towards visible zone and sample treated at 800 °C showed further stronger absorption. With increasing treating temperature, the film exhibited higher photocatalytic activity. Film treated at 800 °C exhibited a degradation rate of 88%, which also showed stable recycle photocatalytic activity. Graphical abstract: < Image>.
