AbstractAbstract
[en] Radio-frequency (RF) cavity of a microtron is one of the significant components used to energize the electrons for acceleration using microwave power. It is important to tune and characterize the cavity to the desired operational values before assembling it into the machine. The small signal (low power) microwave characterization involves determining crucial operational parameters, such as, resonant frequency (f0), bandwidth, loaded quality factor (QL), unloaded quality factor (QUL) and coupling coefficient (β). The tuning work entails changing the dimensions of the cavity in the step by step process to get the required operational parameters. (author)
