AbstractAbstract
[en] A one and half-cell LaB6 single crystal cathode based thermionic RF (radio frequency) gun at 2856 MHz has been designed, fabricated and high power tested. This paper shows the design of the RF gun by SUPERFISH and CST-MWS. Beam dynamics of the RF gun is done with DESY developed code ASTRA. The RF gun will provide 1.5 MeV bunched electron beam of micro-pulse length 30 pico-second in a macro-pulse of 4 microsecond. RF gun structure is fabricated from OFHC copper and high power tested with beam. In this paper we will present the design, fabrication and test results of this 1-1/2 cell thermionic RF gun at 2856 MHz. (author)
