AbstractAbstract
[en] Highlights: • The first eleven coefficients of the angular correlation function in terms of the Legendre polynomials are estimated. • The surface of pure Fe and stoichiometric oxides FeO, Fe2O3 were studied by Extended Energy Loss Fine Structure method (EELFS). • The parameters of local atomic structure were obtained for first coordination sphere. - Abstract: In this work we consider the possibility of carrying out a quantitative analysis of XAFS (X-ray Absorption Fine Structure)-like spectra formed by the excitation of the inner level of the atom of a solid by electron impact. The experimental EELFS spectra of M2,3 edge Fe and K edge of oxygen from surface of pure Fe and stoichiometric oxides FeO, Fe2O3 were obtained. The normalized oscillating parts from the corresponding experimental EELFS spectra were extracted. The analysis of normalized EELFS spectra were carried out taking into account the multipolarity of the excitation of the internal level of the atom and without it. The importance of taking into account the multipolarity of excitation of an atomic core level by an electron impact is illustrated.
