[en] Study of the soil cover, which is influenced by human-caused impact, is important for the assessment of ecological-geochemical state of the environment [1, 2]. In the present time, the investigation of the Baikal region geological environment give rise to a great interest of scientists because of the increase of industrial load [3, 4]. The article proposed is a part of the research devoted to the study of the ecological and geochemical state of the mountain-steppe landscapes of the Baikal region, experiencing modern industrial load. The objective of our research is to study the chemical composition of steppe soils and establish their geochemical characteristics, depending on the granulometric composition.
