[en] The use of expansive mortar in ornamental rock industry mainly in mining is growing enough in recent years. The aim of this work is to study the behavior of expansive mortar added with waste from industrial process, in this case the mud of the ornamental rock improvement process. For this, characterization tests were carried out and expansion pressure was measured in a commercial expansive mortar imported from Italy and incorporated with waste from industrial improvement process of granite. With the results of the analyses and of the expansion tests, it was possible to conclude that it is possible to use the waste from the granites processing of as load in the expansive mortar without loss of purpose that is the cutting of rocks and mainly to reduce costs of extraction and environmental impact..
