[en] Field equations in a modified theory of gravitation proposed by Harko et al. are obtained with the aid of a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic LRS Bianchi type-I metric. Cosmological models corresponding to false vacuum and dust universe are obtained. Some physical and kinematical properties of each of the models are discussed. These models may be physically significant for discussion at an early stage of evolution of the universe
