AbstractAbstract
[en] The fusion community has created 'mini-Suns on Earth' to obtain unlimited, cheap, safe and clean energy. As little as two liters of water and 250g of stones are enough to cover a European family’s demand for energy for an entire year. In addition, the clean and harmless fusion product is the helium that fills the children balloons. In the last decade, fusion experiments have produced much more energy than consumed. The objective is to achieve the maximum efficiency of the market and thus create a renewable energy landscape. The discovery of materials that can withstand the temperature of the Sun shifts the fusion challenge from heat handling to impurity removal. The first explanation of the operating mode of high energy production 50 years ago had more tan 1500 citations. Here I present the first theoretical explanation of the improved mode, which also removes impurities while absorbing fuel for free, which expects the same citations and impact. This research, funded by ‘La Caixa’ and ‘Rafael del Pino Foundation’ Fellowships (<3% acceptance rate), has won the MIT, the Spanish Nuclear Society, the European (EPS) and the American (APS) Physical Society awards. The 6 publications and one patent derived from it are guiding experimental efforts and bringing fusion codes to a new dimension.
