[en] Framatome for the first time has performed a revamping on Incore Instrumentation System (IIS) designed by a different Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Framatome has successfully completed the revamping of the Flux Measurement System (FMS) (part of IIS) within the Krško Slovenian Nuclear Power Plant, operated by the utility NEK. The purpose was to replace the obsolescent equipment by new ones with added value in term of capabilities for the computerized control commands and Human Machine Interface (HMI). The contract consists in manufacturing new flux sensors, electromecanisms and control cabinets. Then during outage consists in the installation and commissioning of the whole new system. In spite of difficulties encountered during development of new equipment and during running tests on site, Krško NPP start on time according to the forecasted outage schedule. With this revamping, Framatome proves its ability to modify, upgrade and perform renovation on FMS for all PWR reactors designed and equipped by its own equipment as OEM or by the main competitor ones. This Framatome design is already operated in more than 100 NPP in France, Belgium, South Africa, Korea and China.
