[en] We review the derivation of three exact sum rules for the finite temperature spectral function of the electromagnetic current. They are derived from the analytic properties and the ultraviolet and infrared behavior of the vector correlator. We furthermore discuss a newly proposed functional ansatz for the spectral function, which can satisfy the three sum rules. (author)
