[en] Full text: The Al and Cu are the main components of the CuAlNi SMA alloy. This alloy is usually produced by casting, which may generate excessive fragility through the alloy. Powder metallurgy is a manufacturing alternative to obtain this alloy with a fine grain size. So, the aim of this work was to obtain fine particles of Al and Cu from their own fragments measuring around 1,7cm. For the obtainment of these fine particles some methods of powder formation were applied, as follows: chemical processes, such as the dissolution in acids and electrolytic precipitation, and physical processes, such as high-energy milling and weakening through cryogenic treatment. After this step, the obtained powders were analyzed by MEV, XRD and thermal analyzes (DSC). Finally, after the most method of powder formation is chosen, the resulting powders will be mixed together with the Ni powder to obtain the CuAlNi alloy through mechanical alloying. (author)
