AbstractAbstract
[en] Heavy ions are charged particles that have an inverted depth-dose profile because of the so-called Bragg peak. Heavy ions(densely ionizing radiation) have a higher relative biological effectiveness than photons. This review focused on the differences in biological effectiveness of radiation between heavy ions and low-linear energy transfer photons at cellular and molecular levels. (authors)
