[en] Mössbauer measurements using both synchrotron radiation and radioactive sources were performed on Sm and Eu cage-structured compounds. Such measurements reveal electronic states through hyperfine interactions at probe nuclei and lattice dynamics through Mössbauer effects of probe nuclei. We have reviewed recent results of the cage-structured compounds SmB6, SmBe13, SmOs4Sb12 and Eu3Pd20Ge6 obtained by synchrotron-radiation-based and conventional Mössbauer spectroscopy and nuclear resonant inelastic scattering experiments.
