AbstractAbstract
[en] Among the most common fungal infections, candidiasis is a serious public health problem worldwide. One of the most used drugs for treatment is Amphotericin-B, which besides being nephrotoxic, has the potential to cause yeast resistance to this antifungal. An inhalation / perfusion lung scan is one of the tests currently used for the diagnosis of pulmonary thromboembolism. However, patients with specific respiratory disorders who perform this procedure in an attempt to exclude the diagnosis may be facing fungal pneumonia, which has not yet been diagnosed. The literature is scarce when trying to relate the behavior of changes to low doses of gamma radiation and its resistance profile against Amphotericin B, after irradiation. The objective of this study is to evaluate the behavioral profile of fungi, “in vitro”, given the low doses of gamma radiation or radiotracers used in pulmonary scintigraphy exams by inhalation / perfusion and after irradiation, in relation to Amphotericin B. prospective control case with Candida albicans cephae distributed in three test tubes with chemical reactions added to saline solution and 40 mCi of pure 99mTc (meta stable technology), 40 mCi of 99mTc-DTPA and 6 mCi of 99mTc-MAA, respectively , maintaining a test tube without irradiation for control purposes. Every experiment being carried out in triplicate. This exposure to the exposure took place for 36 hours, after the half-life of 99mTc, where until Friday half-life hardly any more significant radioactive activity was found. For the analysis of growth kinetics and sensitivity to antifungal, the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) tests were used, using the repeated measures model and the Shapiro- Wilk test. Note that there was a decrease in the growth halo of fungi that were irradiated compared to the frontal control group of Amphotericin B. However, the fungi did not have a predictable growth profile and behave differently when analyzed between groups (DTPA + Tc, pure Tc, MAA + Tc, Control) and also when applied in relation to the times (0h, 2h, 4h etc.).
