AbstractAbstract
[en] The thermophysical properties of the Al2O3, TiO2 and ZrO2 nanofluids from bench measurements and also by comparisons with literature are presented. Existing studies indicate that nanofluids show about a 50% increase in thermal conductivity in relation to the base fluid, which in this study will be water, thus, they can be classified as promising fluids for nuclear applications. The studied properties are: thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, density, viscosity, surface tension and surface contact angle and microscopic analysis. As the purpose is to use them in nuclear applications, the survey of these measures was done before and after the irradiation in the IPEN multipurpose irradiator, a 60Co source to study the effect of ionizing radiation (gamma) on the properties of nanofluids. After the measurements, it can be concluded that there was no big variation in properties, on the other hand, the particles were more agglomerated after irradiation, indicating that the pH of the sample may.
