AbstractAbstract
[en] After more than 10 years of successful operation with a remarkable average turbine availability of 76%, the AVR power station in Jülich was shut down in May 1978 because of a steam generator leak. The repair work was finished in August 1979 and included not only the sealing of the defective pipe system but also a removal and repair of one of the gas blowers which failed due to a bearing defect. The investigation of the flooded fuel elements revealed that their quality was so remarkable high, that they may be used for further reactor operations.
