[en] This publication proposes the content of contributions and of debates of a conference which addressed various aspects of the social ownership of nuclear waste management as a safety issue. These contributions first commented the current changes noticed in the nuclear sector in Europe and in the world with a focus on safety challenges. Then, a round table discussed different nuclear waste management national plans (France, European Union, Italy, Czech Republic), and a contribution presented and commented the situation in Canada. A second round table discussed the participation of all stakeholders as a responsibility to be developed in the territories. A contribution and a round table then addresses nuclear waste management as a high added value industry with qualified skills, and discussed how to pool research and innovation and build a European industry. A last contribution discussed waste management as an issue of nuclear safety, and the possibility to build a sector as a European public good.
