AbstractAbstract
[en] Results from accident simulation heating tests have been modelled using a phenomenological model for particle failure and cesium transport. Preliminary results indicate that this model can predict results of heating tests within an order of magnitude, while providing insight into the basic mechanisms of particle failure and fission product transport. Cesium retention in the matrix and a distribution of particle failure times were both found to be important phenomena.
