AbstractAbstract
[en] This study aimed at giving an overview of the situation of the wind energy sector in the Provence-Alpes-Cote-d'Azur (PACA) region, of projects which are being developed, and of non-completed projects, and also of the experience of local project holders, of the opinion of institutions and of associations about the wind energy issue, in order to identify brakes and levers of projects, and to elaborate propositions for the support to the sector development. The scope of the study is limited to onshore wind energy. After a presentation of the different types of wind energy projects (small, medium, large), the author presents the French context (a mainly favourable opinion, the administrative instruction of projects), and its actors (associations in favour of wind energy development, examples of other French districts and regions). Then, he proposes a situational overview of the PACA region: data and history (guide, potential assessment study, regional scheme or SRE), presentation of the only four presently operated farms, of pending projects, of projects which have been given up, and of projects in development. Then, he identifies and discusses brakes and levers related to this development, and identifies needs and possible actions for the support the sector development in the PACA region.
