AbstractAbstract
[en] Antimicrobial and antifungal effects of low temperature plasma treatment were used for surface sterilisation in food industry but using low temperature plasma in medicine is currently well studied field of research too. Due to its many positive properties, plasma can be used for sterilisation of thermo-sensitive surfaces and deactivation of a wide range of pathogens as bacteria or yeasts. Yeast infections are a serious problem because available medications against them are often ineffective or cause damages also in human cells. In this research, we focused on a low temperature plasma effect on different types of yeasts and their surviving after direct and indirect treatment. Our study was also focused on measurement of reactive oxygen species level in treated solution, which can be responsible for cell damages and lower survival of treated yeasts. (authors)
