AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: At Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT), applied research on the basis of radiation engineering has been conducted for a long time and we have also unique experience on the education of system safety on the protection of mechanical hazard at the Professional Graduate School. Recently, in 2012, the Department of Nuclear System Safety Engineering (NSSE) has been founded for the master course students. Since then, various unique educational activities have been performed for the nuclear human resource development (HRD). At NSSE, there are three lecture courses, namely, Safety Technology, Safety Management and Advanced Energy Engineering. Under these courses, research laboratories on the specialized area are formed. Various accelerators (Electrostatic Accelerator, and other intense pulsed power generators), and Radio Isotope (RI) Center play important roles for not only the advanced research but also the education. Other characteristics of NUT are its close relation with the technical colleges which are existed more than 50 all over Japan and also its location where world largest nuclear plant site, Kashiwazaki, is nearby. We have so far conducted Nuclear Safety Human Resource Development Programs since 2012 in close relation with the area. New HRD program sponsored by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA) concerning the nuclear safety regulation has been initiated in 2016. In the lecture, concept of the programs and research activities conducted at NSSE will be introduced. (author)
