[en] In the present talk, I will address the issues related to the sensor technology and its commercial deployment. In particular the efforts needed to realize sensor satisfying the 4S criteria will be explained taking help of the H2S sensor technology developed at our laboratory. We have developed an H2S sensor based on SnO2: CuO thin film along with a stand-alone monitor consisting of Data Acquisition and Control Board (DACB) and touch screen based human-machine interface (HMI) module. The unit measures the change in resistance of the sensor element on exposure to gas and the result in concentration (10-50 ppm) is displayed on monitor
