AbstractAbstract
[en] Nanostructured Tungsten (W) and Tungsten-Tantalum (W-Ta) thin films are generated on RAFM steel and P91 steel substrates for Plasma Facing Material (PFM) applications in fusion reactor. The developed thin films are then characterized by studying adhesive strength for substrate, toughness, hardness, thermal fatigue and surface morphological properties. The addition of Tantalum as composite material in thin film coating can increase the ductility property of Tungsten by reducing the DBTT threshold of Tungsten. The developed coating will be superior comparatively to the Tungsten coatings in terms of mechanical and thermal fatigue properties. (author)
