AbstractAbstract
[en] Functionalization of borane onto MWCNT (MWCNT+BH3) complex is synthesized by drop casting method and its hydrogen storage capacity is investigated. The hydrogenation of MWCNT+BH3 complex is studied using purpose built apparatus at 100°C under 5 bar pressure of H2 for about 15 min. Hydrogen desorption studies is carried out with the help of thermogravimetric analyzer under nitrogen environment. The vibrational bands centered at 1089 and 2359 cm-1 due to the deformation and asymmetric stretching modes of B-H bonds. The peak at around 2900 cm-1 due to the vibrational mode of C-H bond. The surface morphology and the presence of C, B and O is confirmed by SEM and EDX analysis. Further, thermal stability and hydrogen adsorption/desorption studies will be analyzed. (author)
