AbstractAbstract
[en] Reduced graphene oxide-tin oxide (SnO2-rGO) nanocomposite was prepared by a simple hydrothermal method and used as electrode material for supercapacitor application. The electrode material was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) to understand the morphology and structure. The electrochemical performance was studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanometric charge-discharge (CD) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) using 1 M Na2SO4 electrolyte. The SnO2-rGO nanocomposite exhibits high specific capacitance 177.87 F g-1 at 5 mV s-1 scan rate and shows excellent rate capability. The energy density of the nanocomposite could reach ∼174 Wh kg-1 at a power density of ∼ 5 kW kg-1. These electrochemical results make SnO2-rGO nanocomposite as promising electrode for high performance supercapacitor. (author)
