AbstractAbstract
[en] A comprehensive numerical study of a steady two-dimensional stagnation point flow towards a heated linearly stretching or shrinking sheet in a porous medium immersed in viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field is presented. Using similarity transformation, the governing boundary layer partial differential equations are converted into non-linear ordinary differential equations and solved by Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with shooting technique. Some significant features of the flow and heat transfer in terms of velocity and temperature for various values of the governing parameters like, stretching or shrinking parameter, Prandtl number, permeability parameter, magnetic parameter and Eckert number are analyzed and presented through graphs while skin-friction coefficient and Nusselt number are shown numerically. Results of shear stress and heat transfer rate are also compared with the results of previous researchers. (author)
