[en] This publication first presents the legal definition of radioactive wastes, indicates the distribution of the waste volume among the different economic sectors, and which are already stored or are to be stored by the ANDRA at the end of 2018, indicates the different types of radioactive wastes depending on their activity level, and also indicates their respective volumes. It proposes an overview of the evolution of their management: immersion in oceans, surface storage, warehousing, current researches aimed at improving waste management (recent laws), the Cigeo project for long duration storage. It finally evokes the debate on the future of radioactive wastes
