AbstractAbstract
[en] After a recall of the regulatory background and existence of this report, the recycling of spent fuels is described by addressing the nuclear fuel cycle and the recycling role, the spent fuel recycling process (waste packaging, technical aspects, recycling steps), the recycling of radioactive uranium and plutonium, and the management of radioactive wastes. The next chapter reports the history of processing-recycling of French and foreign fuels at the La Hague Orano's site: history of spent fuel processing-recycling in France and out of France, regulatory framework in France, situation of contracts with foreign utilities under execution at La Hague and Marcoule Orano's sites. The EXPER follow-up system, implemented in compliance with the law of June 28, 2006 is presented: determination of the activity and mass to be shipped, mechanisms of assignment and shipment. Highlights of year 2019 are presented as well as inventories for unprocessed spent fuels, radioactive wastes, and warehoused radioactive materials stored at the site. Provisional schedules are provided regarding the introduction on the national territory of spent fuels from foreign countries (Italy, Netherlands, Belgium and Australia) and the enforcement of the intergovernmental agreements between France and these countries (agreements follow up and content, spent fuels reprocessing follow up and reprocessing plan, estimation of generated wastes)
