AbstractAbstract
[en] Two irradiation experiments in the DFR have been carried out within the German HTGR Graphite and Fuel Development during the past two years. The first experiment was irradiated for one cycle (i.e. 55 full power days). The purpose was to compare different graphite-matrix-materials for fuel bodies. The aim of the second experiment which was irradiated in three cycles (17D full power days) was to compare the property changes of a variety of reflector graphites for HTGR up to their maximum lifetime dose. Additionally samples of coated particle fuel were irradiated in both rigs to investigate the fast neutron damage cm pyrocarbon layers. The irradiation data of the capsules containing coated particles are shown in the following table.
