AbstractAbstract
[en] A first article comments the creation by the European Commission of a unified classification system (the European Taxonomy) to orient market investments in sustainable economic activities, and discusses the fact that nuclear energy is excluded from this taxonomy whereas its environmental qualities are acknowledged. The second article comments the release of a text by the European Council which defends the concept of 'technological neutrality' which leaves the door opened for nuclear energy in the European label for green investments (the so-called taxonomy), and more particularly evokes the opposition between Paris and Berlin, and the consensus about deep geological storage. The third article comments a vote made by the European Parliament before the Madrid COP25 and which acknowledges the role of nuclear energy in the struggle against climate change. The next article comments the content of the final version of a report made by a group of experts on sustainable finance to define a classification of funding which can be considered as sustainable, and notably discusses the case of nuclear energy in front of climate change. Then, an interview of the managing director of the Foratom trade association discusses this issue of inclusion of nuclear energy in the European taxonomy. An article then briefly comments the letter sent by 46 world and European environmental NGOs to the President of the European Commission to ask for the acknowledgement of nuclear energy in the European taxonomy for climatic purposes. The last article comments the conclusions of two expert groups in favour of the inclusion of nuclear energy in the European taxonomy
