AbstractAbstract
[en] After being operated successfully for a number of years, the AVR Experimental Nuclear Power Plant is to be decommissioned and, following the disassembly of plant components, is to be entombed. It will remain in this entombment condition until it is ultimately disposed of. In compliance with § 7 (3) of the Atomic Energy Act, a licence is required for the project described above. The Ministry of Economics, Small-Scale Industry and Technology of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia is the licensing authority responsible for issuing this licence, which has already been applied for. The project is described in the Safety Analysis Report for Decommissioning of the AVR Experimental Nuclear Power Plant, Entombment with the Disassembly of Plant Components and Maintenance of the Plant in this Condition11, on which the licence application is based. The purpose of this concise description is to provide a more understandable description of the planned project and its presumable effects on the general public and the neighbourhood (in compliance with § 3 (3)of the Atomic Ordinance on Procedure).
