AbstractAbstract
[en] A first article outlines how decarbonized hydrogen which can be produced at an affordable price by water electrolysis, will become an additional electricity vector for energy transition. The authors recall objectives and plans defined by public authorities for the development of hydrogen for the purpose of energy transition. They describe the market approach adopted by EDF, and propose an overview of technical solutions and of development perspectives (brief descriptions of EDF R and D programs and of their objectives). The second article is an interview of the ABB France chairman which addresses the role of hydrogen in the decarbonization of energy consumptions and usages, and in the strengthening of relationships between gas and electricity sectors. It proposes indications and brief presentations of the different types and origins of hydrogen, of the benefits of hydrogen, of the different hydrogen usages (electrification of hydrogen production, integration of hydrogen into the electric power grid, and development of a zero-emission mobility, of the installation and operation of charging stations, of main consuming sectors, and of power-to-gas). The commitment of ABB in this market is briefly evoked
