AbstractAbstract
[en] This publication is the text of a speech pronounced at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations, during a side-event to the 10. NPT Review Conference, on August 1, 2022. The North Korean nuclear and ballistic crisis remains the most significant nuclear and ballistic missile proliferation crisis of the 21. century. For decades, North Korea has remained uncompromising in its objective to develop nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles and other weapons of mass destruction in the face of various international negotiation strategies based on sanctions and incentives, in bilateral or multilateral formats. Yet not only are North Korean capabilities continuing to grow in a highly concerning way, but the situation could get worse in the coming months
