AbstractAbstract
[en] This report notably highlights common methodological stakes for the research on risks. It addresses basic notions and proposes avenues for research. It first addresses environmental and health risks from anthropic origin (related to releases of chemical, microbiological and radiological substances, to biological origin, to non-ionising origins such as sound, electromagnetic, nano-materials, and so on, and to the exploitation of natural resources). It addresses natural risks (various hazards, from hazard to risk, assessment of hazard determining factors, improvements of integrated observation methods for a better knowledge of risks, impact of global changes, protection of cultural heritage and of industrial installations, assessment of the impact of prevention on cost reduction). It presents a methodology for risk assessment, proposes an overview of different stakes relation to risk management, and an overview of stakes related to risks for southern countries. Then, it proposes a rather detailed strategic agenda for researches on risks by distinguishing priority researches on anthropic risks, and natural risks, and by also addressing risk assessment methodology, the social dimension of risks, and expertise development
